It’s a bit much no? I understand a principle against campaigning and buttkissing, but he’s nominated at this point! A simple “Thanks for supporting the movies” gets the point across without seeming ungrateful and above it all.

But YAY FASSBENDER! What a performance. He blows the rest of the nominated actors out of the water.

They love Reitman and they have rewarded his previous 2 films… why not attempt to validate themselves and reward a film that is has gotten critical raves and features 2 of the best performances of the year?! Oh wait, THEY’RE A BUNCH OF SHADY A-HOLES. Same rant for the Patton Oswalt snub. Only room for one comedian?

Arthur Christmas – Really adorable movie. I’m guessing this isn’t enough to get McAvoy to show up though which is a shame since I could always use a McFassy reunion.

Thought:

Hmmm…that writer’s category is awfully male. You think they might have included Bridesmaids just because of that.

The Help could have been considered a comedy just as much as Marilyn. Which is to say, hardly at all.

Ugh – why is Glee on the best Comedy or musical [on link]. It’s been laughably bad this year. I wish it had been Community, because (a) I love it and (b) to add Joel McHale, Donald Glover, and Danny Pudi to the attractive men list on the red carpet.
